"One Sales Booth Two Cachets"

This refers to the use of two cachets, one after the other at the Hongkong Post Bangkok 2007 Sales Booth.

One of our members who visited the show told us that Hongkong Post occupied a spacious corner booth at the exhibition which was manned by local agents. The sales booth counter displayed a wide range of recent Hong Kong post products including those sold out in Hong Kong. The Hongkong Post serviced F.D.C. was selling for 80 baht while the $10 sheetlet 60 baht. Despite the mark-up the "error" FDCs were all sold out during the first few days of the show and many were apparently bought by collectors who flew in from Hong Kong.

Our member also noticed that during the first couple of days, a local version of the Bangkok 2007 cachet with a transparent acryllic handle was used. The usual Trodat type canceller (flew in from HK) arrived and replaced the 'local version' on the third day. The reason for replacement was not given. Perhaps collectors complained about the poor quality of the local cachet.

An official notice was put up on the wall of the Hongkong Post Sales Booth regarding the FDC misprint. Incidently, the poster contained several misprints as well!
